When you load your fishing reel with new line, you will often find that the line will not sink.
This is obviously not a problem to a float fisherman, but if you are fishing your baits at long distance, on the bottom, the last thing you need is for the line to be trailing on top of the lake.
It is often a problem if there are ducks etc on the lake that will continually bump into your floating line and give you “false” bites.
You can combat this by squeezing a small amount of washing up liquid on to a rag. When you proceed to put the line on your spool, let the line pass through the washing up liquid by holding the line with the rag.
