This weeks 'hotspot' - July 2003 - Llyn y Gors The photo shows Darren Davies, Fishery Manager, of Llangoed, Anglesey with a brace of Thompson's Pool twenties taken during an overnight session in the "Aquarium" swim. Both fish came to Nashbait frozen boilies fished over a heavily baited area. Darren is holding a 20 lb mirror, while the fish on the mat weighed in at 21 lb 8 oz.
After a very hot week the fish are responding well with good catches of fish from all lakes. Childrens Lake The children have been catching bags of fish from 10 lb up to 30 lb. Roach, small carp and golden orfe showing well, tench late evening. Best bait maggots Match Lake Barbel and carp showing well with good catches of golden orfe and tench reported. Bags of 80 lb reported this week. Best baits maggot, meat and corn fished over carp pellet. Pleasure Lake All methods working and carp taking off the top with bread and dog biscuit. Bags of 100 lb plus reported. Carp roach and tench showing well. Best baits maggot, meat and Nash mini-boilies. Carp Lake Carp, cats and pike showing well. Multiple catches of carp up to 16 lb this week. Best cat 14 lb 8 oz. Best baits boilies, dog biscuits on the surface. Thompsons Pool Showing 20's in every swim this week with a brace of 20's to Darren Davies. Best fish this week 23 lb 3 oz to Dave Jones, Motor Technician, of Bethesda. Nash and Nutrabaits boilies working very well. The weed has died back and fishing has become much easier and better.
