Some info from Foremark Fisheries
Well the weather has finally turned and the sun has been out all week making the fishing even better with a rod average of 5.6. The big fish have still been on the move with plenty of fish over the 5lb mark still coming out. Gary Owen took the best fish this week a fine overwintered Brown at around 7lb Gary took the fish fishing deep from the boat outside the Lodge, Gary had 15 fish on the day using a Di5 and Blobs. Boat anglers have been catching well on the Nymphs along the Ticknall Bank and also around the Lodge area on deep lines and Boobies. Bank Lads have caught well again this week but again they have been fishing just that bit deeper with the bright conditions.
This weekend saw the 3 local Clubs fish against each other in a 6 fish match at Foremark, it was always going to be a close match and that's how it was, Derby Fly-fishers won the event by taking 56 fish for a total of 75lb 14oz, Foremark was second with 56 fish for a total of 69lb 15oz and Thornton were third with 29 fish for 54lb 15ozs. it was a great match with every team member catching a fish and adding to there clubs total. Top angler on the day was Clive Wilkins not only taking his bag of 6 fish for 17lb 10oz he also returned 9 others, Clive had some cracking fish in his bag and took the largest of the match a rainbow of 5lb 2oz well done mate and good angling, hopefully the event will fish well next year where ever it is and Foremark will be trying there best to win back the trophy.
There is still a few places available for the Foremark Open Match on the 31st of May so give us a ring and give it a go. See you up here soon and tight lines Phil Dixon. To see more info on Foremark click here
