Tiddenfoot

DESCRIPTION
Tiddenfoot lake is an old sand and gravel working on the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard. The lake is in a 'countryside park' belonging to the District Council. The lake is very prolific, producing quality fish of many species. One side is shallow while the other three sides provide deeper water close in. The shallow side and some of the deeper water can be weedy but fishable water can always be found.
FISH
The lake contains many species and is popular with all types of angler. Fish of the following species up to the indicated weights are being caught. Carp to 28lbs, Catfish to 50lbs, Tench to 9lbs 6oz, Roach to 1.5lbs, Rudd to 3lb 8oz, Bream to 9lbs, C. Carp 2.5lbs Perch to 3lbs. The lake is very popular with specimen hunters who fish for the catfish and carp. There is a large head of catfish to 50lb in the lake, with many fish over 20lb. The carp have been steadily growing and fish to over 30lb have been reported during recent seasons.
TACTICS
Mackerel section, squid, herring section, trout section, eel section, prawns, mussels, whelks, pigs liver, chicken liver, luncheon meat, garlic sausage, fish meal pastes, in fact the catfish will eat almost anything!

RULES
Night fishing is allowed on the water but anglers who night fish must possess a night fishing pass, these can be purchased from any club agent, our Tiddenfoot bailiffs or our membership secretary, the cost is £10. Junior anglers are not allowed to night fish the water and must be accompanied by an adult during the daytime. Anglers nightfishing on an extended stay must leave the water after seven consecutive nights fishing. All litter and refuse must be removed. Anglers must not leave bagged litter in the car park. Anglers who are night fishing may leave their tackle for a maximum of two hours. There are supermarkets and facilities minutes away from the lake.
