Keston Ponds
Fishponds Road, near Biggin Hill, Kent

DESCRIPTION
This Natural water fed by a spring reputedly contains Carp to over 30lb. Top lake appears to hold tiddlers and good carp but it a mass of weed. Middle lake is the largest but is ringed by wide lily bed with gaps in only two swims on opposite sides of the lake beside the road. Tench reside in the leftmost swim (viewed from the road). Good disabled access to a couple of swims to left of lake by the road. Bottom lake is a mystery and difficult to find a spot to fish from. If you are a dedicated Carp or Tench angler then it should be rewarding - for other species I would look elsewhere. Easy parking on road by middle pond or in car park of the A233.

FISH
Carp to over 20lb, Pike to 17lb, Roach to 1lb and some good Tench. Small Perch and Rudd abound.

TACTICS
Usual Carp tactics but strong gear because of the weed. Although it looks an attractive children's venue with shallow water (should they fall in), weed and overhanging branches make matters difficult. Usual Tench techniques in 'Tench corner'. Long distance float work can apparently pick up good Roach from middle of lake. Crayfish can be caught along the wall by the road but is dangerous because of the traffic.
