Great Bentley - River Ouse
Great Bentley is local Fishing Guide, Alan Middleton’s, pride & joy. Over the winter he has nursed back to rude health from years of neglect one of the prettiest rivers you will find anywhere.
As you slip down the bank into the water (you will need chest waders) you enter a secret world, for one of the great delights of the Ouse is that over the centuries it has cut a gentle ravine in the peaty Sussex land. This effectively cuts you off from everything except the river in which you stand & the verdant banks on either side.
As you gently wade upstream the wildlife & fly life is amazing & you will come across fish rising oblivious to your presence, almost within a rods’ length.
