River Chew - Mill Ground

Description
The Mill Ground is a three-quarter mile stretch of the tranquil River Chew from the Albert Mill in Keynsham to Chewton Place at Chewton Keynsham. Approx 50 swims with depths averaging 5 feet, some as deep as 9 feet. The water is home to a good stock of sizeable chub, roach, carp, tench and perch along with good numbers of gudgeon, dace, grayling and trout. Expect to catch the occasional large bream, rudd and one or two large eels as well. KAA also has another 2 miles of fishing upstream of the Mill Ground at Compton Dando and Woollard. Tactics
The venue has been regularly stocked during the last 20 years and continues to fish well all year round with good catches during both the winter and summer months. A variety of baits will get results, from maggots to hemp & tares, bread, sweetcorn and redworm. There are a great number of features all along the river and access can be found at both the Chewton and Albert Mill ends with limited parking available at the latter. No day ticket is required to fish at the Mill Ground, just a current Club Membership card.
