Bordeaux Pit

Location
Saffron Walden, Essex

Description
The fishery consists of two waters, a small 1/3 acre pond and a 2.3 acre lake. Both waters are well sheltered being below the surrounding area and bordered on its West bank by a railway embankment.

Fish Details
The main water contains a truly mixed variety of fish. There is a good head of Carp averaging around 14lb with odd fish to mid twenties. Crucians to 3lb, Chub to 5lb, Bream to 5lb+, Perch to 3lb+ , a few Tench to 3lb together with Roach, Rudd and Ide. The Ide are small but growing well, having been stocked a year or so back at 4-5". They should grow to around 3lb in a few years and provide good winter sport.

Tactics
Most baits work well with corn and pellet producing well in the summer months, little and often being the best feeding method.
