Buchan Parks Douster Lake

Location
Douster Estate, Crawley, West Sussex. RH11 9HQ

Description
Douster Lake is an established 8 acre estate lake with depths from 3' to 16'. It is very silty in places and has loads of snags with deepish margins as well. The lake contains Roach, Rudd, Perch, Bream, Sunfish, Carp, Pike, Tench and Crucian Carp. The Bream fishing can be excellent with 100lb plus bags reported this year (2011). The biggest reported Bream this year weighed over 8lb but I'm sure there are bigger Bream in there. The Carp fishing is not easy but fish over 40lb have been caught with several 30lb plus Mirrors as well as a 20lbers to be caught. This lake has a habit of producing monster Pike. There have been reports of a big 30 but not recently. The lake does not give up its Pike easily not the big girls anyhow.

Fish Details
Big Pike, Carp, Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Crucians, Sunfish.

Tactics
Boilies work well for the carp fished to snags, and the margins are a great but in the hotter month. In the colder months the fish hold up in the deeper water, but can be tempted with bright pop-ups usually. The lake is also very silty and light leads and very strong tackle is a must.
