As you slip down the bank into the water (you will need chest waders) you enter a secret world, for one of the great delights of the Ouse is that over the centuries it has cut a gentle ravine in the peaty Sussex land. This effectively cuts you off from everything except the river in which you stand & the verdant banks on either side.

Contact
As you gently wade upstream the wildlife & fly life is amazing & you will come across fish rising oblivious to your presence, almost within a rods’ length.
